Dear LESD79 Community,

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I find myself reflecting on the incredible strength of our school community, one that I am thankful to engage with on a daily basis. It's a time for gratitude, reflection, and togetherness—a moment to appreciate the blessings surrounding us and the unwavering support within our community.

I want to begin by extending my thanks to each member of our community—our student-focused governing board members, dedicated leaders, skilled and caring teachers, committed support staff, incredible students, supportive families, and our engaging community partners. Your unwavering focus on student learning and growth, along with a deep care for each other, has been inspiring. We in the Litchfield Elementary School District, are all in this work together.

As we step into this Thanksgiving break, I want to emphasize the importance of gratitude and safety. While we cherish this time with family and friends, it's crucial to remember the significance of balance and well-being. Please find time to engage in things that bring you happiness (while being safe) and ensure that you are rejuvenated and committed to the hard work done during the busy, and often fun-filled, month of December.

I wish you all a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, joy, and the company of those you hold dear; maybe some good hiking, taking naps, watching football (Go Cardinals), and eating lots of pumpkin pie too.

Gratefully,

Carter Davidson, Ed. D.
Superintendent
